One of my favorite locations for engagement photos in Virginia is Ravens Roost Overlook
If you're looking for a photoshoot location in Virginia with gorgeous mountains and easy access, Ravens Roost Overlook if the perfect spot. I love this location because there is no hiking required, no payment for entry, and absolutely gorgeous mountain views.
What makes Ravens Roost stand apart from other overlooks off Blue Ridge Pkwy, is the variety in photo locations. Though it's just one overlook, there is an area up on rocks with an iconic tree and a grassy area down below the official overlook.
Although the overlook is typically very busy, I love to recommend photoshoots earlier in the day. People tend to flock to Ravens Roost for sunset, which is surely beautiful, but you may find it quieter earlier in the day. I met up with this couple for engagement photos in the afternoon for more of a brighter vibe.
