Kathleen and Greg are engaged to be married on September 21st of 2024. The three of us met up for some casual engagement photos with their dog Charley. We started at Forest Hill Park and had a little picnic with champagne, then we explored the river. We stopped for a quick outfit change and some photos in front of their home, then we made our way to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden to enjoy the sunset.
I love hanging out with my couples and taking some engagement photos for them within the year leading up to the wedding. Taking the time to get to know your wedding photographer will result in clear expectations of how their creative flow will go on the wedding day and how they work from shooting to delivering the final photographs. I have found that when I get the opportunity to photograph my couples before the day of their wedding, we all feel much more comfortable around each other which makes all the difference in the wedding photos. Photographing engagement sessions goes very differently than weddings in the sense that not as much is naturally happening - no timelines, no guests, etc. It gives us all the opportunity to get to know each other in a relaxed environment. There is nothing more important to me than the relationship between subject and photographer when creating. It's also just so sweet to have these photos of the two of you before you are married. One season into the next, I'd love to document it all for you. <3
