Janine and Ross got married at The Tides Inn, a waterfront wedding venue in Irvington, Virginia in April, 2026. They wanted a relaxed coastal chic energy and they absolutely delivered. Although it was a hot day, the breeze from the water surrounding the venue made the atmosphere so lovely and we all enjoyed the day so much, it was truly magical!

The Tides Inn is an incredibly good option when searching for wedding venues in Virginia. For one, it has plenty of space to host your guests if you want close friends and family to be able to sleep on site for your wedding weekend. The rooms feel luxurious and have a gorgeous view of Carter’s Creek. There is river access and a little beach with sand to enjoy as well as a gorgeous pool right along the water. Other activities guests can partake in include tennis/pickleball, golf, dock trails along the water, Kayaks, Canoes, Paddleboards, biking, etc.

Aside from normal day Tides Inn activites, I also love the inn as a wedding venue. Janine & Ross had their ceremony on a lawn overlooking the water, stayed there for cocktail hour, then had their guests walk along the floating dock trails to their reception space. The way the venue is spread out makes it fun to walk from place to place, enjoying gorgeous views the whole time.

If you're looking for a gorgeous waterfront wedding venue in Virginia, I highly recommend checking out The Tides Inn in Irvington. I truly enjoyed my experience photographing a wedding here and I hope to be back soon. Below are some of my favorite photos I took at Janine & Ross's wedding.
