Wedding at Libby Hill Park & The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing | RVA Film Photographer

RVA Film Photographer

Darius and Ashley were married at Libby Hill Park in front of a beautiful view of Richmond's skyline and headed to The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing afterwards to party. The two got engaged in this exact spot a couple months earlier. I was in awe of how magical their wedding was with only a few short months of planning. It just goes to show - all you really need is love. Libby Hill Park is one of my favorite elopement/intimate wedding spots in Richmond. I started my day with the girls at The Quirk Hotel in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The Quirk is just as it sounds - a quirky Richmond hotel with modern decore and the perfect intimate garden for Ashley's first look with her father. Darius and Ashley chose to have their first look at the altar, and it was showing on their faces. After an emotional ceremony and quick family formals, the three of us walked around Libby Hill at sunset. I am especially in love with the polaroids I took of the two of them. Sometimes, nothing hits like wedding day poalroids. My approach for newly wed portraits usually revolves around a walk with little pit stops in good light. I love to capture my couples simply being present with each other in their first few moments as a married couple. After our portraits, we headed to The Boathouse to celebrate with their friends and family.

Photographed on 35mm film, digital, and polaroid.
